Ethical Wills

An Ethical Will is a non-legal document that records your values, beliefs, and hopes for the future. Taking the form of a letter to loved ones, a one- to two-hour audio recording, or a short narrative, it is a way to share your life's lessons, words of love or forgiveness, and blessings with your family and community.

Ethical wills are the values that you leave behind, not the valuables. Although many people try to complete this life-affirming exercise on their own, it is often much easier to say it than to write it

In an interview format, we will lead you through the process of recording your values, beliefs, and hopes for your children, grandchildren, and friends. The interview then can be edited for sound quality and preserved on archival CDs, or it can be transcribed to read more like a letter or narrative.

This is not something that should be reserved for those in their later years, although it often becomes a priority as grandchildren and great-grandchildren enter our lives. We should all -- regardless of our age -- take the time to record and share our messages of love and life reflections for the benefit of our loved ones.
